Routine Eye Exams

Regular eye exams are an important part of maintaining your eye's health by detecting and preventing disease. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options.

During a comprehensive eye exam, your doctor does much more than just determine the health of your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses. Your doctor will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes are working together, and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.

Eye examinations are an important part of health maintenance for both adults and children. Adults need routine examinations to keep their prescriptions current and to check for early signs of disease. Children need examinations to ensure normal vision development and academic achievement.
